Reading Programme
 

(1) Primary Literacy Programme- Reading/ Writing (PLP-R/W) in KS1 (P.1-P.3)

  • Students’ four skills with a focus on reading and writing through the sustainable Primary Literacy Programme are developed.

  • The Development of Text Sets (DTS) aims to enrich the school-based English Language curriculum.

Our KS1 DTS Programme incorporates

inquiry-based learning,

questioning strategies

with important developmental themes

such as family and friendship.

Students love to encounter

the authentic story books,

poems and videos chosen

for them to learn from.

(2) Reading Workshop in KS2 (P.4-P.6)

  • Reading lessons are conducted by ELTA and subject teachers.

  • Reading skills and strategies with a focus on reading across curriculum (RaC) are taught in the reading lessons.

 

 

Process Writing

 

(1) Our writing lessons emphasize on how to work through a process to develop the ideas within students.

 

(2) Our school-based writing booklets / tasks are developed and refined from  time to time so as to help students practice qualities of good writings –  organization, elaboration, word choice, and conventions.

Hollywood Road Excursion

English Fun Day - International Fun Day 
We use various locations around the school to create fun and educational activities based around different countries’ cultures, language, traditions, history, geography, food, music, arts & craft, sports and famous people in which students can use and learn English from cross-curricula stimuli.
